We really like this article today in Renewable Energy Magazine. It catalogs NIMBY opposition to renewable energy infrastructure projects during each of the past twelve months.

The article points very correctly to the advantage that clean energy projects can gain by successfully engaging a well-qualifies public relations firm to proactively address potential opposition.

We’d like to point out as well that another way to address potential opposition would be to design site-specific interventions that are respectful of the landscape and the needs of the community, rather than force a pre-designed solution onto them. As large-scale renewable energy installations become more prevalent in residential communities, the technology itself must evolve to be more responsive to the sophisticated needs and aesthetics of the user.
