Sadly, the artist Flo McGarrell’s life was stopped short this week by the earthquake in Haiti. I wasn’t familiar with his work previously, but upon being alerted to his story by our friend Matias Viegener and reading more about him it seems appropriate to post a short encomium to his life and work. I will let this in-depth story and interview with him from just this past summer tell the story of his ideas but suffice it to say he was taking a very interesting approach the the intersection of sculpture and environmental art and was doing his part to affect real positive change in the world.
