Using Design and Art to Tell Inspiring Stories About the Coming Electrified World

LAGI works with communities to turn clean energy infrastructure into visible, inspiring parts of everyday life. Through art and design, we help people understand—and feel invested in—the transition to a clean energy future.

We are living through a once-in-a-generation shift in how the world is powered. As buildings, transportation, and industry electrify, vast new systems of energy infrastructure will shape our cities, landscapes, and public spaces. These changes are inevitable. What is still undecided is whether this infrastructure will be hidden and purely utilitarian—or thoughtfully designed to reflect shared values, culture, and care for place.

Your support helps ensure that the clean energy transition is not only technically successful, but publicly understood, widely embraced, and beautifully integrated into the world we live in.

Public Education and Energy Literacy

LAGI translates complex energy and climate systems into forms the public can understand, experience, and remember. Through workshops, presentations, Art+Energy Camps, and design briefs, we engage learners from primary school through post-graduate study.

LAGI projects extend that education beyond classrooms and conferences into public space—where learning is ongoing, shared, and embedded in everyday life—helping build long-term energy literacy across generations.

Your support helps turn public spaces into places of learning, curiosity, and shared understanding about our energy future.

Providing Designers and Artists with Regenerative Design Tools and Connecting them with New Technologies

Since 2010, LAGI has worked at the intersection of art, design, and renewable energy, equipping designers and artists with the knowledge, tools, and context needed to engage meaningfully with regenerative technologies. Through open calls, research, workshops, and public projects, we help creative practitioners move beyond abstraction to work directly with real-world energy, water, and climate systems.

By connecting creative communities with emerging clean energy technologies—and the engineers, scientists, and local partners behind them—LAGI is having an impact on the way designers approach every new creative brief. The result is a growing body of projects that expand the horizon of what is possible when we design human systems of survival with ecology and natural on-site energy resources as the primary generators of form and function.

Support for LAGI sustains this ecosystem of learning, experimentation, and collaboration, helping ensure that artists and designers are active contributors to the regenerative future now taking shape.

Open-Access Knowledge & Global Reach

LAGI’s competitions are free to enter, and the research and educational materials are openly shared as free downloads, allowing ideas to travel far beyond their original context and be adapted worldwide.

Your support helps ensure that LAGI’s work remains accessible, shareable, and globally impactful.
