Known as Concentrated Photovoltaic Thermal CPVT, or Combined Heat and Power Solar CHAPS), these complex systems capture the wasted heat energy from the inefficiency of a solar cell system, and store it in a thermal material a high efficiency hybrid system can be created which can help to cool the operating temperature of the PV cell while providing useable hot water.
