Matthew Rosenberg, M-Rad Architecture

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art (University of Saskatchewan), a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture (Dalhousie University), and a Masters of Architecture (SCIArc) which he received alongside a Selected Thesis Award. He has also studied architecture at McGill University in Montreal and the Louvre in Paris. Matthew has significant experience in the design and implementation of bespoke, complex and large scale architecture while recently taking hold of smaller scale projects and mobile furniture fabrication. After over a year living and working in Beijing, he returned to Los Angeles in 2012 to launch MRad where he aims to reconceptualize architecture and urban growth through social and environmental research.
MRad studios is dedicated to exploring progressive solutions with clients who are interested in redefining the architectural style of our time. We provide bespoke solutions to universal problems.
The work, while varied in scale and eclectic in scope, is harmonized by alternative sustainable solutions and enhanced social exchanges. We are working to facilitate the development of socially generated solutions that will maximize the function of our buildings or strengthen a community’s infrastructure.
Our goal at MRad is to introduce elements that reinvigorate the existing landscape into public spaces and offer the community a chance to define a thriving culture. Our hope is that our designs help to build a stronger bond between the community and their built environment by offering them a part in its development.
CULTURE, COMMUNITY, CLIMATE: these words capture the heart of who we are. Our inspiration draws on a deep respect for the cultures and individuals that our work immediately affects. We envision landscapes that enrich communities, inspiring people to interact with each other as well as the structures that we draft. Incorporating science and climate data allows us to produce buildings that push the frontiers of environmental sustainability. In this way, we are both locally and globally minded. Small details can impact our world in great ways.
