With just short of 1,000 residents, Nipton is a small railroad outpost town. But such small steps are a good example and an excellent parallel track to be pursued along with the large-scale more ambitious projects. One small town at a time&#8230;<br \/>\nvia <a href=\"http:\/\/news.cnet.com\/8301-11128_3-20007333-54.html\">CNET News <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here in the UAE, the 100MW massive installation, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/finance\/newsbysector\/energy\/7814539\/Abu-Dhabi-plans-largest-solar-power-plant.html&#038;sa=X&#038;ei=bKkUTJf0CdeIOKyJjKgM&#038;ved=0CCkQqQIoAzAA&#038;usg=AFQjCNE45zNo-0WbWwejAGKq9emyhByHzg\">Shams 1<\/a> in Abu Dhabi, a joint effort between <a href=\"www.masdar.ae\/\">Masdar<\/a> and <a href=\"www.abengoasolar.com\/\">Abengoa<\/a>, is critical, setting the bar higher for the rest of the world. <\/p>\n<p>It may also be a good idea to install 5-10MW arrays near smaller UAE cities like Kalba or Al Mirfa. It would provide such cities with a security of energy and assist the peak load of the existing UAE grid especially during the summer daylight hours.
