Concentrating Linear Fresnel Reflector (CLFR) use long, thin segments of flat mirrors to focus sunlight onto a fixed absorber located at a common focal point of the reflectors. Similar to the more common parabolic trough, this concentrated solar energy heats up a heat transfer fluid which in turn heats water to run a steam turbine. One advantage of CLFR is that the reflectors can be flat rather than parabolic which can tend to be more expensive for mirror-reflective quality.
